Geneva History Museum
543 South Main Street
Geneva, NY 14456

The Geneva Historical Society's 2016 Fall Lecture Series concludes with the program "Music in the Key of Geneva" on November 7. In this presentation, John Marks, the Historical Society's Curator of Collections and Exhibits, and Kelly Walker, of Finger Lakes Public Radio and Tintinnabulous, will share a visual and audio history of music in Geneva. A companion to the portable exhibit, Music in the Key of Geneva, the program will cover the many types of music performed in Geneva, both by famous musicians who've come here and by local musicians. Marks and Walker will also discuss their podcast series for Music in the Key of Geneva, and the interviews they have conducted with local musicians during the past year.

Exhibit panels for the Music in the Key of Geneva project can be seen at the Geneva Public Library, the Visitor's Center on the lakefront, the Geneva Community Center, and the Smith Opera House. For blog posts and podcasts exploring the project, visit our blog and audio collections  web pages.

Music in the Key of Geneva is funded in part by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts administered by the Museum Association of New York. Podcasts, the zine, and other elements of the exhibit are supported by the New York Council for the Humanities. The Geneva Historical Society Lecture Series is also supported in part by the Samuel B. Williams Fund for Programs in the Humanities.
