2021 Quilt Raffle

Two Quilts Together

Historic Geneva’s Broken Dish Quilt (left) and Raffle Quilt (right)

Take a chance on history and you could be the owner of a beautiful Broken Dishes Quilt made by Liz Carty and Beth Reiners.  Broken Dishes is a simple quilt pattern consisting of triangles arranged in a four-patch square.  The squares are turned at different angles to create the broken dish effect.   With examples dating to the 1790s, Broken Dishes is a one of the earliest recorded designs in quilt history. Based on a quilt in our collection, the Broken Dishes Quilt is queen size.  Both quilts will be on display in the Hucker Gallery at the Geneva History Museum this fall.

Raffle tickets are 1 for $5, 3 for $10, and 8 for $20.  Tickets can be purchased at the Geneva History Museum, Rose Hill, and our fall programs.  The drawing will be held on Friday, November 19.  Proceeds from the raffle will support our mission of telling and preserving Geneva’s stories.   To purchase tickets or for more information call the Historic Geneva office at 315-789-5151.
