Volunteer
The time and talent of our volunteers are vital to the success of Historic Geneva. Based on your availability, interests, and skills, a variety of volunteer opportunities are available.
Collections – Computer based projects like scanning or conducting inventories. Must have the ability to work independently after training, and basic computer skills. Time commitment is 1-2 days a week. If you are interested or would like more information, call 315-789-5151 or e-mail archivist@historicgeneva.org.
Committees – Each committee focuses on a specific aspect of Historic Geneva and includes both board and community members. Time commitment is 1-2 days a week. Committees include:
- Annual Support Campaign – Recruits new supporters (members) for Historic Geneva and oversees the bi-annual support campaign.
- Collections – Oversees Historic Geneva’s collections and archival materials.
- Diversity – Provides an advisory role, integrates initiatives, and ensures accountability on diversity and inclusion.
- Fundraising – Responsible for Historic Geneva’s fundraising activities including events.
- Marketing – Oversees efforts to publicize Historic Geneva and its activities.
- Nominating – Identifies and recruits individuals for election to Historic Geneva’s Board.
- Property – Serves as a resource for the operation, maintenance, and administration of Historic Geneva’s buildings and grounds.

Events – Helping with special events or Historic Geneva’s booth at community-wide events. Time commitment is a couple of hours per event. Includes:
- Seneca7 (April 28)
- Farmer’s Market (one Saturday a month in June, July, and August)
- Concerts at Rose Hill (June 16, , July 7, July 21, and August 18)
- Family Day (August 10)
- Civil War Day (September)
- Holiday Market (December)

Projects
- Distributing brochures to tourist venues throughout the region (seasonal).
- Writing articles for our quarterly newsletter or weekly blog.
- Helping maintain the gardens and plantings beds at the Geneva History Museum or Rose Hill Mansion (seasonal).
- Assisting in the Carriage House Gift Shop (May – October).
- Cleaning the Carriage House Visitor Center and Rose Hill mansion (May – October).
- Helping with Taking Tea (April – May).
