Accessibility Statement
Historic Geneva welcomes all visitors our three historic properties. We recognize that visitors have diverse needs and try to offer accessible programming to enable all visitors to explore our sites. However, accessibility for guests with limited mobility can be challenging at our historic sites due to their historic and natural features. With advance notice, we will make every effort to respond to visitors’ access needs.

Geneva History Museum
Service Animals
Service animals welcome. They must remain on a leash or harness at all times.
For Visitors with Mobility Impairments
Parking is on the street, and there are no handicapped parking spaces. Visitors with limited mobility may park in the driveway between the street and sidewalk for closer access. The Geneva History Museum is not wheelchair accessible. There are seven steps up to the first floor main entrance. The basement level Hucker Gallery can be accessed by a steep driveway for lectures, meetings, and programs. The entrance on this level can also be opened by request for access to the Hucker Gallery and its exhibit, Geneva’s Changing Landscapes. The research library, basement level gallery, and restrooms are up three steps from the Hucker Gallery. The exhibits and office spaces on the first and second floors are only accessible by stairs. The second floor does not have public spaces.
For Visitors who are Blind or have Low Vision
Lighting is dim in some areas due to the historic nature of the house.
For Visitors who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
ASL interpreters are available for groups, special programs and events upon request with 2 weeks’ notice.

Rose Hill Mansion

For Visitors with Mobility Impairments
Visitors with limited mobility may park in the bus loop in front of the Visitor Center for closer access to the mansion’s entrance. The Visitor Center has restrooms up one step, and wheelchair accessible restrooms are in an outbuilding off of the main parking area behind the Visitor Center.
Access around the grounds and house is over gravel drives, slate walkways, and uneven grass.
There are 5 steps up to the main entrance of the house. The house is wheelchair accessible by a ramp off the back porch. The house is wheelchair accessible on the first floor only. The kitchen is down two steps from the main part of the house. Thresholds between some rooms are slightly raised. There are 20 stairs to the second floor. An informational binder and seating is provided for those who cannot see the upstairs section of the tour in the Visitor Center or in the mansion’s kitchen.
The carpenter shop is not wheelchair accessible and must be accessed by 5 steps.

Johnston House and Mike Weaver Tile Museum
There are no restrooms or drinking water at Johnston House.

For Visitors with Mobility Impairments
Parking is in the Bottomless Brewing lot. Visitors with limited mobility may park on the grass or along the side of the gravel driveway nearest the Johnston House. Access to the house and Tile Museum building are over uneven grass and slate walkways. Neither Johnston House nor the Tile Museum are wheelchair accessible. Johnston House is accessed by two steps up to the porch. There is 1 large step up with no railing to access the Tile Museum.
