Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes: A Visit with Robert Frost as Portrayed by Peter Saracino
March 1, 2025, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Peter Saracino brings to life the renowned poet Robert Frost in a performance on Saturday, March 1, at the Geneva History Museum. The program is sponsored by the Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes and is free and open to the public.
Peter has been a community theater performer for over 40 years. His fascination with the work of Robert Frost began in high school with poems like "Mending Wall," "The Road Not Taken," and "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening." In college his fascination deepened as he read through Frost's Complete Poems. There he discovered that poetry was a medium for examining the human experience—love, loss, wonder, doubt, despair and hope—the stuff of life.
Frost once said his only goal in becoming a poet was to lodge a few poems where they would be hard to get rid of. Peter hopes his portrayal of Frost's life will help lodge a few of Frost's poems in his listeners' hearts and minds. His preparation for writing this show involved two years of research, including trips to the Frost family homesteads in Derry and Franconia, New Hampshire and Shaftsbury, Vermont.
This program is presented in cooperation with Historic Geneva and is free and open to the public. Meetings of the Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes are presented in the newly renovated Hucker Gallery at the Geneva History Museum. Membership in the Antiques Club is $15 per year. The club plans meetings featuring various speakers, field trips and social events. See the Club's Facebook page for more news.
