Downtown Walking Tour

August 27, 2014, 7:00 pm -

Finger Lakes Gifts and Lounge entrance
60 Seneca Street
Geneva, NY 14456

Discover downtown Geneva’s past this summer. Join our archivist, Karen Osburn, and volunteer Joseph Rivera-Ramos for lead walking tours of the downtown business district during July and August. The tours will run rain or shine the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. The July 9 tour will cover the eastern half of the downtown business district. The tour on July 23 will focus on the western half of downtown, and the tours on August 13 and 27 will cover Exchange Street. Find out what downtown was like in the past, what happened to some of its historic buildings, and why Geneva still has so many 19th-century buildings. Discover the stories of those that remain, and how downtown businesses were once the lifeblood of the community and its economy.

Each tour will start at 7 p.m. outside Finger Lakes Gifts and Lounge at 60 Seneca Street. The cost is $5 per person. Payment can be made in advance at the Society office or at the beginning of the tour. Please bring exact change or a check if you pay the night of the tour. Reservations are appreciated. For more information or to make a reservation, call the Society office at 315-789-5151 or email us at info@genevahistoricalsociety.com.
