This summer, in conjunction with the 200th anniversary of the completion of the Erie Canal, Historic Geneva will conduct walking tours looking at how the canal impacted the city. There will be tours of the downtown business district July 11 at 11 a.m. and August 1 at 5:30 p.m. Learn how the business district's growth and development was changed by canal traffic.
The downtown tours will start at Scott LaFaro Drive near the Seneca Street parking lot. The tour will run rain or shine, but will be cancelled in the event of thunderstorms or heavy downpours. The cost is $5 per person. Payment should be exact change or check and is payable at the start of the tour.
Tours of the lakefront will be held on June 6 and July 25.
