Join Archivist Becky Chapin at the Geneva Public Library Community Room on May 10th at 10am to hear about General Lafayette's visit to Geneva in 1825. The visit was part of a tour of the young nation in celebration of the Frenchman's role in helping the United States establish its independence during the Revolutionary War. Ahead of the 200th anniversary of his celebration tour on June 8th, Becky will explore the facts and delve into the folklore that has emerged in the last century around Lafayette's visit. This program is in partnership with the Daughters of the American Revolution Seneca Chapter and the Geneva Public Library. For more on the anniversary of Lafayette's tour, check out the American Friends of Lafayette website.
