People stand outside the African-American church building on High Street in the late 1800s.

All are welcome to join a special meeting of the Geneva Public Library's Anti-Racist Book Club at the Geneva History Museum. Before the discussion enjoy a tour of the exhibit, Lift Every Voice: Geneva's Black Community Since 1966, which explores the history of Geneva's black community since the Civil Rights Movement. The discussion will be about Kathryn Grover's Make a Way Somehow, which explores African American life in Geneva from 1790 until 1965. Copies of the book are available for purchase from Historic Geneva or to borrow from the library. The discussion will be facilitated by Historic Geneva Executive Director Kerry Lippincott. She will also give background about how the book and exhibits came to be.
