History Sandwiched In: From Grains to Grapes: Drain Tile Over the Years
March 3, 2021, 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
The History Sandwiched In series features short presentations conducted on the first Wednesday of the month during the workday lunch hour. Curator John Marks brings us a virtual March program focused on tile drainage and its effect on the crops grown in the Finger Lakes region. He will include a brief history of John Johnston’s innovations with drain tile but will also cover how the profitable crops grown locally have changed over time and how drain tile has impacted this history.
