This summer, in conjunction with the 200th anniversary of the completion of the Erie Canal, Historic Geneva will conduct walking tours looking at how the canal impacted the city. There will be a tour of Geneva's lakefront June 6 at 5:30 p.m. during the BID First Friday and July 25 at 11 a.m. Learn how the lakefront was changed by the canal and the community's changing priorities over 200 years.

The lakefront tours will start near the information kiosk by the back parking lot of the Finger Lakes Welcome Center. The tour will run rain or shine, but will be cancelled in the event of thunderstorms or heavy downpours. The cost is $5 per person. Payment should be exact change or check and is payable at the start of the tour.

Tours of downtown will be held on July 11 and August 1.

For more information about the walking tours, call the Historic Geneva office at 315-789-5151.
