A couple and an older man watch a little boy sit and "milk" a plywood cow.Historic Geneva will host Family Day at Rose Hill Mansion on Saturday, August 9 from 12 to 4 p.m. At this free, family-oriented event, visitors can see the house and grounds at their own pace. Guides stationed on the first floor will share the story of the Swan family, especially the Swan children, and their lives at the mansion and farm from 1850 to 1890. There will also be a family scavenger hunt and periodic trips to the belvedere throughout the day. The second floor will be closed for the day.

To accompany the exhibit Without Asking Permission: The Art of Agnes Swan Hutchins and Margaret Hutchins at Rose Hill, many of the activities will be art themed.  Singer-songwriter Joan Burch will perform from 12–2 pm and the Two Peace Band will perform 2 to 4 pm.  A community art show will be on display at the East Tenant Cottage.  Members of the Genesee Country Bobbin Lace Guild will demonstrate bobbin lace and Tenerife lace.  Peggi Heissenberger will show how to needle felt woolies.

Along with craft activities, the Town of Fayette Historical Society, Dove Block Project, and other community organizations will have booths onsite.  Chickens and other farm animals will also be at the event. Along will the Sprinkle Starship ice cream truck, the Geneva Rotary will sell hamburgers and hot dogs. The Carriage House Gift Shop will be open.
