Call For Interns

January 27th, 2023

Historic Geneva is now accepting applications for internships at Rose Hill Mansion.  Do you know someone that would be interested in an internship experience?  Are you looking for an internship opportunity?

Interns are key members of a small team that is responsible for the ongoing interpretation of Rose Hill Mansion. Under the supervision of the Visitor Services and Programs Manager, interns will gain valuable, hands-on museum experiences.  Responsibilities may include leading guided tours, designing and installing exhibits, conducting a research project, and creating public programs and special events.

View between gate posts and across a lawn to a 6-columned Greek style house. The internship program is divided into three sessions – Spring (February to May), Summer (May/June to August), and Fall (September to December).   Over a period of three to six months interns may work two to four days a week.  Academic credit can be arranged for students who complete a minimum number of hours per week, as determined by their academic institution.  Candidates who apply for the summer program are considered for paid positions.  Applications are accepted on a rolling basis year-round.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth experience for those looking to pursue a career in museums. Candidates with a passion for historic houses, museums, history, and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Interested candidates should send a resume with a cover letter describing interests, goals, and availability to Mel Oles, Visitor Services and Program Manager at Rose Hill Mansion and Johnston House at rosehill@historicgeneva.org  with “RH Internship” in the subject line.   For more information, email rosehill@historicgeneva.org or visit https://historicgeneva.org/about-us/opportunities. We look forward to working with interns at Rose Hill.
